App Design
Niche Knacks is a place for people to share their passion for pop culture and history through collectibles and antiques. There are two functions of this app; one offers a platform like Craigslist, where you can buy or sell collectibles, the other is a community page that lets users share their collections and any information about them for other users to see.
Research and Exploration
Personas
Elvira is my older persona, meant to represent the more experienced user. She is most interested in the community page to share her thoughts on African culture and history, but she also presents what a reliable and verified user looks like. She does some selling and buying as well.
Style Guide
Alex is a young persona, meant to represent the less knowledgable user who wants to learn how to collect, buy, and sell properly. He presents the need for the exploratory aspect of the app, as he is not sure what he wants out of collecting yet.
The navy blue lends itself to security and credibility, while the gold and coin element is meant to call to mind the commercial aspect of the app as well as the popularity of collecting coins.

The Home page, set to the “Offers” section. This screen is where users can look at posts from other users that are looking to sell or buy collectible(s).
Focused on how to organize the features that allow the users to interact/keep track of other users, such as notifications when others post on their saved tags, deals, or messages.
The Home page, set to the “Community” section. This screen is where users can view social media posts from other users.
These sketches focused on the organization of tags, differentiation between offer and community posts, and hierarchy of information for post details.
The tag system is based off of Tumblr benchmarks for the filtering system and the search feature.
Notifications, deals, and messages are given the same spacing and type treatment.
The profile demonstrates how verified information is displayed for each user.
Filters focus on utilizing the tag system and details required for Offers or Community posts to help users find what they want.
